Post-doc Positions in Air-Sea CO2 Flux Measurements and Carbonate
Seawater Chemistry, NUIG, Galway, Ireland
The Centre for Climate & Air Pollution (C-CAPS) Studies at the
Environmental Change Institute (ECI) at NUIG, invite applications for
two full-time positions at the Post-doc level. We are seeking
motivated scientists to contribute to a research project on ocean
acidification, funded by the Irish Marine Institute. The details of
the positions are:
- CO2 fluxes: the successful candidate will be responsible for eddy
covariance and surface pCO2 measurements at the Mace Head Research
Facility and the R/V Celtic Explorer. Applicants should have a PhD
in oceanography, physics, or a related field, a proven research and
publication record, and experience in air-sea flux measurements and
data analysis. Salary: €40,578 – €42,525.
- Carbonate seawater chemistry: the successful candidate will set up a
laboratory system capable of making high quality routine
measurements of DIC and TA in seawater samples, and be
responsible for the collection and analysis of the samples in order
to establish a baseline dataset for carbonate parameters in Irish
marine waters. Salary: €40,578 – €42,525.
