Important addendum re: NSF RAPID proposals

RAPID proposals should NOT be sent to NSF without first discussing the idea with an appropriate NSF program officer.  Email is the best way to initiate the dialog.  If the  program officer believes that the RAPID request is appropriate, he/she will give the go-ahead to submit the RAPID proposal.

NSF has a mechanism in place to receive time-sensitive proposals related to unanticipated events such as the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  For more information, please see the NSF Grant Proposal Guide:
