The EURO-BASIN Project Office would like to call your attention to the following grant competition, hosted by the European Union Delegation to the USA, titled "EU-US Policy Research and Debate 2012-2013. Competition description: The Delegation of the European Union in Washington, DC invites proposals from think tanks, public policy research centers, and other non-profit and non-governmental organizations based in the United States for activities that encourage policy research and debate about EU-US relations.  Cooperation between US and EU-based institutions is encouraged.  For applications with such cooperation, a US-based institution must take the lead in submitting applications, with any EU-based institutions involved acting as project partners.

The EURO-BASIN Project Office points out: EURO-BASIN under the BASIN Initiative, are already looking ahead in this direction in terms of going towards a common funding mechanism to consolidate research on the North  Atlantic, and the call below sounds like an extension.

Specifics for the call seem to be that it should be driven by a US partner, with EU partners in support, two year projects in the range of 150k euros for coordinated support activities.
