Research Fellowship, Marine Biogeochemical Modelling, IFM-GEOMAR, Kiel
The Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences at the University of Kiel (IFM-GEOMAR) is offering a
Research Fellowship
in the research unit Marine Biogeochemical Modelling.
We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in marine biogeochemical cycles and their interaction with Earth's climate system. Areas of interest include the sensitivity of the marine carbon and nitrogen cycles to past and likely future climate changes, the development of new marine ecosystem models, and the use of data assimilation and uncertainty analysis tools to guide model development and interpretation of results.
Candidates must have a PhD, experience in the modelling of marine biogeochemical cycles or marine ecosystems, and a strong research and publication record.
The position is initially limited to 3 years, beginning February 1, 2010, or later, with a possible 3 year extension. Salary and social benefits are according to Germany’s public sector TVL 13 scale. The position can be split into part-time positions.
The Leibniz-Institute for Marine Sciences is an equal opportunity employer and encourages female scientists and scientists with disabilities to apply.
Please send your applications with a CV, list of publications, addresses of three referees, and a brief statement of research interests by January 5, 2010 under the keyword "BGC Modelling" to:
