In November 2010, OCB sponsored a scoping workshop The molecular biology of biogeochemistry:  Using molecular methods to link ocean chemistry with biological activity.   The report from this workshop is now available at http://www.us-ocb.org/publications/Molec_bio_report.pdf.  The report will also be posted on the workshop website (http://www.whoi.edu/sites/molbiogeochem).

This timely report, which represents the views of workshop participants across multiple disciplines of molecular biology and biological and chemical oceanography, provides detailed recommendations and scientific rationale for a large-scale sectional survey approach that combines marine microbiological and geochemical sampling.
