The Consortium for Ocean Leadership is pleased to announce the search for a Science and Environmental Compliance Specialist, Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI). This is a regular, full-time, exempt position.

The Science and Environmental Compliance Specialist, OOI supports the Associate Program Director in coordinating science planning and environmental compliance for ocean observing activities. This Specialist provides science expertise for the OOI within the program office and applies expertise and leadership in the development, organization, management, and delivery of science plans and programs related to Ocean Leadership’s implementation of the OOI through the cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation (NSF). The Specialist will provide assistance to the development and implementation of strategies to promote interest in the OOI to the wider scientific and education communities, governments, industry, and public; will plan and implement scientific workshops, user group meetings, and other specialized meetings associated with the OOI project. The Specialist is also responsible for coordinating environmental compliance (i.e., the National Environmental Policy Act [NEPA]) and tracking permits required for the implementation of the OOI.
