Seeking OCB SSC nominations by Nov 14

Posted by hbenway
· Wednesday, November 7th, 2018

The following SSC members are scheduled to rotate off at the end of 2018:

  • Dennis McGillicuddy (WHOI) – physical-biological interactions in the open ocean and coastal margins, mesoscale dynamics, biogeochemical cycling, zooplankton population dynamics
  • Anton Post (FAU) – biology of algae and its ecology, evolution and genomics
  • Andrew Barton (SIO) – marine ecosystem tipping points, microbial biodiversity, trait-based microbial ecology, climate and marine ecosystems
  • Laurie Juranek (OSU) – dissolved gases, isotope biogeochemistry, marine biological pump, and marine carbon cycle

However, nominations need not be limited to the expertise listed above. If you wish to nominate someone, please submit your nominations to the OCB Project Office by November 14, 2018 with the following information about your nominee:

  1. Name, affiliation, and email address
  2. Expertise as it pertains to OCB
  3. Abbreviated CV (2-page limit – NSF biosketch format is ideal)
  4. A few words speaking to the nominee’s capacity to contribute to OCB leadership, science planning, and implementation

Self-nominations are welcome! OCB SSC members serve a term of 3 years. For more information on the OCB SSC, including a list of current and previous SSC members, the SSC charge and terms of reference, and links to the past year of SSC minutes, please visit the SSC page of the OCB website.
