CANCELLED: OCB2020 Summer Workshop

Cancellation of OCB 2020
Due to health and safety concerns associated with COVID-19, we regret to inform you that the 2020 OCB workshop in Woods Hole has been cancelled. Rather than attempt a virtual format for the planned OCB 2020 plenary sessions (which we think would compromise session quality and community discussion), the OCB SSC has decided to postpone this year’s plenary sessions to OCB 2021. The 2021 workshop dates will be June 14-17, 2021 (Woods Hole, MA).

A Virtual Summer OCB Seminar Series
Since we cannot meet in person, we are planning to host a biweekly virtual OCB seminar series this summer to help community members connect and engage in a scientific dialog. We plan to solicit speakers, topics, and abstracts from YOU, our community! In this seminar series, we are targeting content that is relevant to OCB’s current research priorities. Talks should be similar in style to a typical OCB summer workshop talk, featuring the work and expertise of the speaker but also drawing on the work of others to build broader inferences and pose provocative ideas for a moderated discussion and Q&A afterward. We especially encourage early career members of our community to consider giving a seminar. We will be recording these seminars and making them available via our YouTube channel to accommodate those who cannot participate in real time. In the next week or two, we will send detailed information about this seminar series, including instructions and a form for potential speakers to submit talk topics and abstracts. We are still working out the details, so please await these instructions before contacting us.
