OCB is seeking nominations for new Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) members. The following SSC members are scheduled to rotate off at the end of 2020:
- Andrea Fassbender (MBARI) – marine biogeochemical cycling, the ocean’s role in global climate through the carbon cycle
- Matt Long (NCAR) – biogeochemical and climate modeling
- Amy Maas (BIOS) – physiology, distribution, and RNA sequencing of zooplankton, genetic response of pteropods to ocean acidification, carbon flux, circadian rhythms, diel vertical migration
- Clare Reimers (OSU) – coastal and deep-sea benthic biogeochemistry, eddy covariance and microsensor profiling, redox processes and microbial metabolic pathways linking O2, C, N and S cycles
Please submit your nominations by November 13, 2020 with the following information about your nominee:
- Name, affiliation, and email address
- Expertise as it pertains to OCB
- Abbreviated CV (2-page limit – NSF biosketch format is ideal)
- A few words speaking to the nominee’s capacity to contribute to OCB leadership, science planning, and implementation
